Commemorative Events
Throughout the years numerous public events have taken place commemorating various aspects and milestones of Stafford’s history. Stafford’s 300th and 350th Anniversaries were celebrated in 1964 and 2014 respectively. Most events have been supported by Stafford County Government and numerous historical and civic groups.
Appropriate ceremonies have been held for dedication of state and county historical markers and a wide variety of historical signage and plaques. Annual “Yankees in Stafford…and some Confederates too” living history events have featured sign dedications by reenactor living history units in Falmouth.
